Australia’s own Robbie Maddison has beaten his own motorcycle long distance jump World Record at the Crusty Demons Night of World Records in Melbourne. Proving yet again he is the king of long distance jumping.
With far less than perfect weather conditions Maddison leaped his Cisco’s Race Tuning modified CR500 an astonishing 351 feet, adding 29 feet to his previous world record at the event at Calder Park, Melbourne. Rival stunt rider Ryan Capes held the record for a very limited time after jumping 324 feet (beating the old record of 322 feet), but Maddison the last of the three riders to jump was to regain the record at the end of the night. “After all the hype surrounding Capes in the lead up to tonight its great to walk away at the end of the event letting the final results speak for themselves.” Maddison said after the show.

Maddison said “I can’t explain how amazing it is to smash my own world record in front of a home crowd. I have been doing huge jumps and breaking personal records in training this week so I knew that I had it tonight, but nothing could have prepared me for how great this feels. Unfortunately the weather conditions worked against us a little tonight not allowing me to jump as far as I did during the week. ”

Ryan Capes and Seth Enslow congratulated him following the massive jump. Ryan Capes after his one and only jump told the media: “I am looking forward to a rematch in the USA in the next twelve months, but it was Robbie’s night tonight.” Capes was also heard to say that a 400 foot jump was not impossible but he was unsure of who the first person to perform such a feat would be. Judging on Robbie’s unbelievable build up to the Saturday night main event we think we know who will be the man to put the money on to break the elusive 400 ft mark.

Crusty Demons legend Seth Enslow fell short of his rivals on the night, but his 301-foot jump was a new personal best for the American. He said: “I am stoked, I may not have claimed the World Record but I am really happy with my result, that’s the best I have ever jumped.”

Robbie added: “It was always going to be exciting with the jump off situation, Seth is a mate and a legend of the sport and Ryan is renowned as a long distance jumping specialist. The Aussie crowd got me over the line.
